Nikolett Kovács
Nikolett is an artist living and working in Cardiff. She makes abstract landscape paintings working with heavy textures and soft colours. Her work investigates senses and perception, the lived experience of our environment with special attention to the natural landscapes, as well as to the perception of art, considering all of our senses: not only vision, but touch, smell, sound and so on. Her aim is to reveal the connection between the self and the environment as well as exploring the possibilities and effects of a multisensory approach within the visual arts.
Nikolett received a BA in Fine art in 2021, an MFA in Fine Art in 2022 and currently working towards her PhD in Art and Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Nikolett and her access dog Teddy supported our two A level Art and Photography work experience students and artist Matt Joyce to create the mural at their high school. Hamzah Ahmed and Maisarah Bodor are students at the Hearing Impaired Resource Base at Llanishen High School - and we could not have installed all of our PWSH murals witthout them!
