Let’s PWSH Things Forward!

We aim to celebrate difference, contribute to change and re-imagine public spaces.

PWSH is an ever-evolving public art project that first came to life in Cardiff City Centre in August 2021.

Over one week, armed with paintbrushes and posca pens, the PWSH creatives breathed new life into corners of the city centre and have made you smile with their vibrant ideas. The project has been created to enable Cardiff-born and Cardiff-based emerging and established visual artists to decorate their city centre with artwork that celebrates and represents a breadth of local creative talent. Since then we have re-imagined lost artwork in Capitol Centre and we have partnered with Women’s Aid. We are currently actively seeking funding for the future of PWSH and having exciting conversations with creative collaborators. Please get in touch if you’d like to partner with us or have a site you’d like us to transform. To date we have just created murals, but we dream of bringing many more forms of public-facing art to life.

During the pandemic, many of us slowed down and thought about what our community and our city means to us. PWSH wants to re-energise our city and imagine a vibrant future for Cardiff. Take a look at our artwork - sadly, heart-breakingly… we lost three of our artworks (click here for further information) but you can see photos of the artworks online here, and explore the other sites online and in-person.

With accessibility, diversity, and meaningful inclusion at the heart of the project and of each design, there is a hope that PWSH will grow year after year. We want to spread to more nooks in our city and beyond; amplifying the voices of our artists and our communities, collaborating with other like-minded creatives, driving social change through allyship. We aim to put more smiles on people’s faces and centre the care and wellness of our creatives and artists as we continue to create. We always pay our PWSH artists and creatives.
